Inspired by the actual but enigmatic Pippa’s Purple Palace, these songs hearken back to simpler times, and perhaps those yet to come, where imagination and reality are the best of playmates. Reminiscent of the tongue-in-cheek tunes and themes from the days of Tin Pan Alley and the roaring 1920’s this collection reflects and conveys the many moods influence by sun, surf and sand. Swirling sounds and lyrics from by-gone days, this album channels traditional New Orleans street jazz with it’s wild horns and sultry piano, along with soulful melodies of old time, Delta blues.
